Lewis tried to pass Nico on the outside on the final lap and Nico basically drove straight into him. Before the race, Nico said it would be best for him if neither he nor Hammy scored points in the race, and he tried to make it happen. Nico’s wing broke off, and he finished the race dragging the wing under the car, going from 1st to 4th. He claims Hammy drove into him . He’s delusional.

“I’m on the inside, I have the right to defend and I don’t need to take the ideal line,” he said. “I had Lewis on the outside and I wanted to keep him there, of course always leaving him track space — that’s clear and that was always the intention.

“It’s a fact that he had space, you can look at the onboard and all the other cameras. Of course, after the collision it may look like that’s not the case because I am airbourne and I lose grip, so of course that takes me further out of the track. After that it may look like there is less space, but that’s irrelevant because it is after the collision.

“I just want to repeat, at all times there was space prior to the collision.”

I just love the fact that he tried to pin it on Lewis only to get points on his license for causing a collision and then he proceeded to drive at full speed with basically a plow spewing out high-speed projectiles from the front of his car.

Also Lauda trying to say it was Lewis’s fault and giving Nico the no-brakes excuse when he clearly didn’t even TRY to make the turn.

I sincerely hope his career gets reduced to a foot note at the end of Lewis’s marked: “Also ran”

Not trying to defend Rosberg there, because that was a dick move. Not turning to take your opponent out is not a move I consider acceptable at all.

But Hamilton did that sort of things on him before, it’s just that it was less obvious and also that Rosberg chose to go offtrack to avoid contact then (i.e. Canada 2016, USGP 2015). Those are also shitty moves. But Rosberg made it very clear lately that he wouldn’t be taking shit anymore, and so he tried a Ham move, but he was very clumsy and Hamilton also didn’t want to let it happen.

Again, total dick move from Rosberg. But there’s a history behind it. I kind of see why he’d be confused that Hamilton didn’t try to avoid him.
